It's almost a testament to Nintendo's longevity that the company has been able to keep churning out games with the same characters jumping around in the same franchises over two decades and still find ways to make them feel fresh. Mario Kart 8 combines the natural familiarity of the series with a fresh take on the racing itself that makes for a fun game from start to finish.
