Michael Risch, a professor at the University of Villanova School of Law, and Eric Goldman, co-director of the High Tech Law Institute at Santa Clara Law, discuss Airbnb's lawsuit against the city of San Francisco, which tried to ban home-sharing platforms from collecting booking fees from hosts who haven't registered with the city. However, Airbnb, the world's fourth-most valuable startup, is now arguing that because it operates on the Internet, it can't be held responsible for users skirting local laws.
